Hi There! I'm 28 year old Lea from Wirral, Uk. I have not been crocheting very long but am in love with the hobby already!
I'm a married to the love of my life of 7 years, Chris, and have two gorgeous children, Lily - Lynn who is 2 very soon! and Daniel, 9 months. Oh, and of course, our six fish!
I've always worked since the tender age of 14 with a Sunday job so now being responsible for two young children 24/7 is a complete culture shock I am still trying to adjust to. I love being a mum and love my kids more than anything but I need to keep myself stimulated via something that fees like work rather than extreme babysitting, hence why I started this. It keeps my brain busy and lets me use my non kid related portions as and when I can!
I've been an active crater since a very very young age, as a child I'd love making shops and stalls for my mum to shop in and buy all my paintings with my crayola designed money. I'd build castles and forts from cardboard for my Trolls and Barbies and loved any aspect of arts and crafts! I learnt to knit at a very young age of 8 but dropped it shortly after as I was only taught basic squares and tired of them very quickly! Through secondary school my love of art kept going and I would often be painting and decorating canvases, or my bedroom wall thanks to my mum very generously letting me get creative with it!
I found it hard keeping up with my crafty hobbies when I fell into the world of work and college and it all took a back seat over my other love since age four - gaming! It's always been and always will be a huge part of my life, some of my favorite series include Resident Evil, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, World of Warcraft, Rift, Gears of War, Battlefield, amongst a whole lot of others through my 24 years of gaming!
After I gave birth to my daughter and fell pregnant with my son I randomly decided I wanted to learn crochet. I asked on my local free cycle websites for any spare hooks/yarn, went on you tube and got going learning the basic stitches (in US terminology as I would find out confusingly later when following my first patterns!).
I started a few baby blankets and tired extremely quickly, they're far too big a project for me! So after the birth of my son and around a year later in May 2014 I decided once again to give this crochet lark a go! I learnt the granny square, then proceeded straight onto Amigurumi! At this point I was still confused by patterns so I used online tutorials from some amazing crocheters including Laura Eccleston over at Happy Berry Crochet (in references section of blog) and Amigurumi Freely (also in references) amongst others, developed my skill pretty quickly as luckily I learn things pretty quick, and now two months later, have written a handful of patterns, have some successfully completed projects and offer tutorials.
The reason I started this blog is to keep every possible reference together in one place, and I hope you find everything you need!
